IG Index, has launched a new range of betting opportunities under its ‘Custom Bets’ banner. Designed to complement the company's traditional financial spread betting business and the more sophisticated binaries, Custom Spread Bets give clients the ability to construct a tailor-made bet by using a graphical interface to set the parameters they want.
IG Index managing director Tim Hughes said that this will help open up the financial markets to a new group of traders. “This is something of a departure from the traditional dealing interface for IG Index, but we believe the Custom Bets proposition opens up financial markets to a new segment of the betting community.
“Working along the lines of a traditional fixed odds bookmaker, the stake and maximum return are known at the outset, although clients can still trade out of their position before expiry if they want to. Furthermore, the intuitive graphical slide bars give the utmost flexibility when looking to structure a bet to meet your requirements, as opposed to simply taking what the broker has to offer.”
The range of markets on offer includes the most popular indices such as the FTSE 100, DAX, Dow Jones and S&P 500, selected currencies as well as the price of oil.
Depending on the type of bet chosen, spread betting clients can adjust up to five parameters including the target price levels, the bet's time of expiry and the size of the stake. As each adjustment is made, the potential payout is calculated in real time and clearly displayed.
