IG Index offers account holders a number of risk management order / bet types:
- Controlled Risk Bets - these let you put an absolute limit on potential losses whilst enjoying unlimited upside. Note that Controlled Risk bets can only be chosen when you open your position.
- Stop Orders - these help you reduce your risk by putting limits on potential losses whilst enjoying unlimited upside. They can be applied / changed after you have opened your trade however they are not guaranteed.
- Limit Orders - these help you lock in a profit when a market moves in your favour.
- Trailing Stops - these help you lock in your profits in more volatile markets. Trailing Stops mean that you don't have to constantly adjust your Stops. If the market moves in your favour the Stop automatically moves with it.
